Can I buy just one panel?
Discount Solar aims to provide affordability, due to the size and weight of panels, we offer them primarily in packages or palletized for bulk.
You may visit one of our warehouses across the country to test the product before purchase. Orders under a dozen panels must be picked up by the customer.
Do you help with Installation?
Although Discount Solar is not an installer we work with many professional solar installation companies as well as off-grid experts.
Discount Solar has a network of installation partners that we can refer for your specific project.
Are there resources for sizing my system and buying the correct parts?
Discount Solar offers an education center on Youtube with many simple guides and instructions.
Try our chatbot and calculator resource for DIY tips. For large scale projects it is recommended that you work with professional installer.
How does shipping work?
Once you purchase, you are able to coordinate freight yourself or we can connect you with our transport broker who will price things out.
Due to the size and weight, we can only ship to non-warehouse states by the truckload. The shipping calculator provides a rough estimate for your consideration but final pricing will be provided by your freight forwarder.
Where does the used equipment come from?
Large solar projects that are decommissioned for various reasons but not all panels have reached end-of-life - often times they have already broken even around the 10 year mark and are upgrading systems. Often times installers and companies like Tesla will replace a system that's perfectly working.
Discount Solar procures and tests used equipment to maximize its useful life. PV equipment for example are rated to function at 85% of its power 25 years and beyond.
Will the equipment work with grid-tie?
Depending on your needs Discount Solar offers equipment such as inverters that are optimized for grid-tie or off-grid.
Before making a purchase it is important to consult a professional to make sure your equipment will be compatible with each other.
